Many readers and lovers of narrative poetry will be familiar with Robert Burns’ “Tam O’Shanter”. Some time ago, Esha and Hamish were invited to give the Immortal Speech at a Burns Supper and in preparing for it, fell to discussing this wonderfully evocative work. Inevitably the conversation came round to wondering what happened to poor Tam and meg after they escaped the clutches of Auld Nick and his Hellish cronnies. Here’s what they think happened.
Robert Burns’ original poem is widely available on the internet. You may wish to read that before you read this poem.
If you need and English ‘translation’ of “The Continuing Tale of Tam O’Shanter” leave a comment to that effect; Hamish and Esha will be happy to oblige.
